Traffic Concerns
Traffic is an ongoing issue in Sunny Isles Beach.
Most agree that traffic in Sunny Isles Beach will never return to what it was years ago.
I will not promise you what cannot be delivered. Most running for office in the past or will now have made grand claims to reduce traffic and did nothing.
In a commission meeting, a previous Chief of Police said that the number of vehicles coming into Sunny Isles Beach in a recent year of data was 35 million cars. And 7 million in 90 days.
That’s an incredible amount of traffic! The Chief did not offer solutions; people cannot be stopped from driving here.
Thirty-five million cars coming through SIB 2 ½ miles of Collins Avenue, the numerous traffic signals with turns into shopping centers, and the beach towers will not change.
However, working with residents, the City Manager, and the Commission, we can develop sensible ideas to improve.
I believe our police are doing all they can to help the flow of cars at the opening and closing of the school.
As your Commissioner of Seat 3, I will work with our Police, City Manager, and the Commission to do everything possible to support sensible local solutions.
When voting in the November election, vote for Greg Capra for Sunny Isles Beach Commissioner for the Future and bring common sense back to our decision-making.
Greg Capra for Sunny Isles Beach Commission Seat 3.
