Pragmatic Leadership

Teddy Roosevelt said, “Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick.”

I have always admired this leadership style and my dedication to thoughtful and pragmatic leadership.

This type of leadership is why my neighbors at Poinciana Island in Sunny Isles Beach have elected me to be their President of the Homeowners Association for the past 14 years.

I’ll explain how my leadership style relates to Teddy Roosevelt’s famous statement.

Every opportunity for improvement or problem issue brought to me as the Board President by the manager or unit owner is greeted with a levelheaded response.

When you have been entrusted to make decisions for others, that responsibility is taken with fairness and transparency without personal interest.

I want to bring That type of fair leadership to the Sunny Isles Beach Commission.

Unlike my opponent, the current Seat 3 Commissioner, she used her position for her political aspirations by calling our Mayor and the other Commissioners criminals.

Her self-serving tactics were underhanded, making her an empty voice on the Commission.

The Big Stick part of the statement does not mean being overbearing and using underhanded tactics, as my opponent has.

It means that once you have discussed issues openly and fairly and concluded about the correctness of a decision, stand for what you believe.

When you vote this election season, let’s bring sensibility and sound reasoning back to leadership on the Sunny Isles Beach Commission.

Vote for Greg Capra for Sunny Isle Beach Commissioner for the Future. Seat 3.
