Issues & Vision
Traffic: Traffic is an ongoing issue as our community grows and prospers. There have been commissioner after commissioner who promised to fix the excessive traffic through Sunny Isles Beach. They did nothing, but what could they have done? The Florida Dept. of Traffic (FDOT) controls the road and traffic lights. They didn’t tell you that. Instead, they made empty promises.
It’s time to face the reality that the East side development and limited north-to-south roadways make the past empty promises to fix the unfixable empty campaign promises.
Sunny Isles Beach School: While the school excels academically, overcrowding dims its shine. Addressing this issue is not merely about improving our rating; it’s a crucial step in ensuring the well-being and prosperity of our school community.
Its impact ripples throughout the school community, affecting students, educators, and parents alike. Moreover, it places undue strain on our law enforcement officers, who grapple with the logistical challenges of managing traffic during peak hours.
Pragmatic Leadership: As a Sunny Isles Beach Commissioner, Greg is a single vote on a commission. However, he will be your firm voice on the Sunny Isles Beach commission and stand up for the issues brought forward to the dais.
He will work with his colleagues and the residents to build consensus on the commission for the better of our community.
Our Police Dept: What could be more important than the support of our police. We should take care of those that have taken care of us. Loyalty, Respect, and Honor from within.
Development: Responsible development is crucial. Greg will work with residents and developers to build common-sense legislation. Responsible development will ensure that our community continues to grow, and businesses can prosper.
The development concerns raised by residents, especially those of the Town Center, will be addressed by ensuring that our development is in line with current and future development codes.
Greg intends to represent the will of the residents by keeping FAR low on the west side of Sunny Isles Beach and ensuring our town center is developed in a fiscally responsible and architecturally significant.
Fiscal Responsibility: Sunny Isles Beach faces limited growth in the future because there is limited existing property to develop compared to the past. Tax revenue will not grow as it has and developers will not provide donations as they did in the past for variances.
Greg has proven leadership as the Treasurer and Association President for his Association Poinciana Island Yacht and Racket club for fourteen years.
During his tenure in numerous capacities, Greg has made vast improvements to the large property at Poinciana Island while maintaining financial responsibility. That is why the owners at Poinciana Island reelect Greg each year as their President.
Greg plans to bring proven financial acumen to the Sunny Isles Beach Commission to keep our community financially sound.
